Dear neighbor,
My name is Samuel, and on this spring equinox, I am wishing you good health, a grounded nervous system and the food your body needs to be healthy. I believe together, we can build a better future for us all. This letter serves as my first solicitation to the community to be part of Treelore Farmacy’s brand new CSA program. It is my intention to provide fresh, nourishing, organic produce to our community with reciprocity to the land which I am grateful to tend.
What we are offering
Fresh, organic, locally grown produce, delivered every Saturday or Sunday morning, from June through November (26 weeks). This produce is hyper local, being grown within a 5 mile radius of your home. Produce will vary, but some examples include radishes, mustard greens, lettuce, carrots, beets, turnips, spinach, cilantro, potatoes, tomatoes, tomatillos, summer squash, bitter melon, cucumbers, winter squash, melons, green onions, kale, basil, mint, dill, and more. We strive to deliver value and anticipate approximately 6-12 items per box per week, along with a preparation suggestions card and a sneak peak at next week's box.
How much it costs
All shares are equal in size, and you can sign up for however many shares you would like. Sliding scale price of $20-$40 per share. Choose the price per share that matches your income or chosen donation amount. We know funds are tight for some, and others who are able to may desire to be more generous to support our budding farm, and that’s why we choose to offer our boxes sliding scale.
How to Pay
Cash only. You can pay in full the 6-month (26 week) season up-front OR once per month with first delivery of the month. We understand some may find cash inconvenient, but this is the best way to keep funds moving within our own communities as much as possible and hope you will be on board with us in our efforts to direct our energy back into the community.
Why CSA?
The Consumer Supported Agriculture model is a cooperative model where farmers and the people who eat fruits and vegetables deal directly with each other. This eliminates supply chains, reduces pollution, maximizes freshness, and gives the best financial outcome for both the farmer and the customer. It also encourages diversity in the people’s diet, leading to healthier, more resilient communities. This model of farming is time tested and sustainable, and a great way to keep it local.
